250,000 for service in the rear: officials from the Territorial Defense Command detained in the Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv region, two officials from the Chuhuiv District Military Enlistment and Recruitment Office were caught; according to the investigation, they demanded 250,000 hryvnias in exchange for facilitating service in a rear support unit.
This was reported by law enforcement agencies.
According to investigators, one of the deputy heads of the Chuhuiv District Military Registration and Enlistment Office and the commander of the security detachment offered a conscript money to influence the decision regarding his fitness for service in rear units and his subsequent service at the Military Registration and Enlistment Office.
The officials promised to secure the man a position as a driver at one of the Regional Training and Recruitment Centers and Support Units instead of sending him to a combat unit.
To this end, according to the investigation, a military medical commission’s conclusion was prepared regarding his fitness for service in support units, the Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Center, training centers, and other rear units.
Both suspects were detained immediately after receiving 250,000 hryvnias. They were notified of their status as suspects under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—abuse of influence.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized documents and mobile phones. The possible involvement of other individuals in the scheme is currently being investigated.
The court imposed a preventive measure on the suspects in the form of detention, with the alternative of posting bail. They have also been suspended from their posts.
In Volyn, a TCC official is accused of mistreating a citizen. According to the investigation, during mobilization activities, he may have broken the man’s arm and used a stun gun. The case has been referred to court.
The SBU detained the head of the Medical Examination Commission in Kropyvnytskyi for selling disability certificates.
