A 29-year-old woman from the Rivne region was admitted to the intensive care unit after being bitten by a viper
A 29-year-old resident of the village of Mala Lyubasha in the Rivne District was hospitalized after being bitten by a viper. The snake bit the woman in her vegetable garden near her home.
The incident occurred on August 11 at around 6:00 p.m. A few minutes after the bite, the victim began to experience the first symptoms. The woman sought medical help and was then transported to the Kostopil Hospital.
The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit. Doctors provided symptomatic treatment and detoxification therapy.
The woman’s condition was assessed as moderate. As of August 14, she had already been transferred from the intensive care unit to the general ward. Her condition has improved.
Medical professionals remind the public that if you encounter a snake, you should not make any sudden movements or try to catch it. You should calmly move away to a safe distance.
When walking through tall grass, bushes, or the forest, it is recommended to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes that a snake cannot bite through.

Thanks to the Ukrainian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, a genetic match was found for 34-year-old Zinoviy from Kyiv, who had been battling aplastic anemia for a long time. Unfortunately, there were no suitable donors among the patient’s relatives. However, the registry identified a 21-year-old man who donated his hematopoietic cells.
