Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, has resigned

Andriy Kovalenko is stepping down as head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He announced this on September 28, noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already accepted his resignation and that it was time for him to move on.

Summing up his three years at the Center, Kovalenko thanked the head of state for the opportunity to serve the country and highlighted the team’s achievements. According to him, the institution succeeded in building a strong system, expanding media products to combat disinformation, shaping the Ukrainian agenda, and significantly strengthening cooperation with international partners.

Kovalenko also emphasized that despite leaving his position at the CPD, he will continue to be involved in efforts to ensure national security and engage in cognitive warfare against Russia.
