The State Fiscal Service has caught a wholesaler evading 15 million hryvnias in VAT
Detectives from the Regional Office of the Economic Security Bureau in Odesa Oblast have successfully completed a pre-trial investigation into a case of intentional tax evasion.
This was reported by the Economic Security Bureau.
The company, which specializes in the wholesale trade of household electrical goods, has fully reimbursed the state budget for over 15 million hryvnias in value-added tax.
Investigators established that the director of the importing company deliberately concealed a significant portion of the company’s income to avoid tax obligations to the state.

She deliberately failed to record in official documents the sale of goods to another legal entity totaling 90 million hryvnias.
Of this amount, exactly 15 million hryvnias constituted VAT, which the firm was required to transfer to the state treasury.

In the tax return, the suspect did not indicate the actual sales volume, attempting to conceal the large-scale scheme from regulatory authorities.
Based on the evidence gathered, detectives notified the company’s director that she was suspected of intentional tax evasion.

Employees of the Economic Security Bureau carried out comprehensive measures to ensure compensation for the losses incurred by the state.
