A group of border violators was detained near the border with Slovakia
Servicemen from the Chop Detachment thwarted an attempt by three Ukrainian citizens to illegally cross the state border.
This was reported by the press service of the border agency.
The men, who were of draft age, were detected while attempting to secretly enter Slovakia outside of official border crossing points.
The movement of the unknown individuals toward the border was detected using modern surveillance technology.
Upon receiving a signal about the violators, a response team from the “Palad Komarivtsi” unit immediately headed to the scene. Officers from the operational-investigative unit were also involved in the operation.

Border guards managed to catch up with and stop the group of men just 400 meters from the state border.
During the document check, it was determined that the detainees were residents of various regions: Donetsk, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts. As it turned out, the men had been living in the Zakarpattia region for quite some time.
The investigation established that the detainees knew each other and had jointly planned their escape route. During private conversations, they decided to join forces for an illegal journey to the European Union.
However, the border guards’ technical equipment allowed them to uncover the men’s intentions even before they reached the border.
All offenders were taken to the border guard unit to clarify the circumstances and prepare the necessary procedural documents.
Proceedings have been initiated against the men for attempting to illegally cross the border and violating border regulations. The court will determine the further fate of the detainees.
