Refugees from the temporarily occupied territories complained to Putin about being evicted from their temporary housing
Refugees from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Kursk regions recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin, reporting that they were being forcibly evicted from temporary accommodation centers (TACs) in the Tula region.
According to them, regional authorities have adopted a decision stipulating that, starting September 1, 2026, only people with disabilities and large families will have the right to remain in the Temporary Accommodation Centers.
In the message, the displaced persons stated that they are effectively left without housing or support:
“They are kicking us out onto the street with no alternatives. They are offering us nothing. We automatically lose our temporary registration… They are threatening us with riot police if we do not voluntarily leave the Temporary Accommodation Centers,” the video states.
The refugees also claim they have not received compensation for lost housing and property, despite the fact that some of them lost their homes as a result of hostilities.
“There are elderly people and children among us. We’re all being thrown out onto the street. In effect, we’re becoming homeless,” the authors of the appeal stated.
According to the displaced persons, they tried to contact the administration of the Russian president, as well as the leadership of the so-called “DPR,” but received no response.
This was reported by the publication Astra.
