Power Outages in 5 Regions Due to Russian Attacks — Ministry of Energy
As a result of intense fighting, regular shelling of power facilities, and adverse weather conditions, some residents in eight regions of Ukraine have been temporarily left without power.
Utility workers have already begun emergency restoration work to quickly restore power to residents’ homes.
According to official data from the ministry, the fighting has caused significant damage to power grids in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.
At the same time, severe squalls and thunderstorms left more than 160 settlements in the Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions without power.
Repair crews from NPC “Ukrenergo” and local power distribution companies are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible.
Despite the serious damage to infrastructure, no scheduled power restrictions are expected for the current day.
Experts are urging citizens to independently regulate the load on the country’s power grid to help stabilize it. Distribution system operators are asking people to shift the use of energy-intensive appliances to periods of peak generation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy’s press center.
