Deputy Head of Kyivzelenbud Has Been Notified of Suspicion Over an Inaccurate Declaration

One of the deputy directors general of the municipal enterprise “Kyivzelenbud” has been notified that he is suspected of providing false information in his financial disclosure statement in the amount of 9.6 million hryvnias. The case is being investigated under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

Based on the results of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention’s (NAZK) review of the official’s declaration, it was established that in 2024, while serving as director of the municipal enterprise—and as a person required to file a declaration— he failed to disclose in his 2023 declaration assets, income, and financial obligations totaling 9.6 million hryvnias.

In particular, he failed to declare an unfinished garden house in Kyiv with an area of nearly 280 square meters, built to replace a previously purchased house with an area of 21 square meters. The value of this house in 2024 was nearly 8.6 million hryvnias.

The official also failed to declare 700,000 UAH in income from the sale of a 2014 BMW X5. His declaration lacks information about a loan in the amount of 280,000 UAH.

Thus, the information provided by the official in his declaration differs from the actual facts by an amount exceeding 2,500 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons. The suspect’s actions have been classified under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

Earlier, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment with the court against three investigators from one of the departments of the Nikopol District Police Department for abuse of authority. They unlawfully detained and tortured two citizens.

The State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine has suspended the management of the Odesa Detention Center from their duties pending an internal investigation following the online release of a video showing unlawful actions against a detainee. According to the non-governmental organization “Non-Stop Ukraine,” the detention center director, together with investigative officer Serhiy Y., organized a money-extortion scheme under which every newly arrived inmate had to pay between $2 and $15,000, and those who refused were subjected to abuse by inmates in the facility.
