Chernyshov Reaches a Deal with Investigators: NABU Has Dropped the $500,000 Charge Against Him
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has dropped one of the three counts of illicit enrichment totaling $500,000 against former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. According to his attorney, Oleksandr Rusyn, Chernyshov has already been served with an amended indictment that excludes this charge.
The defense attorney announced this following a hearing at the High Anti-Corruption Court, where NABU’s motion to extend the pre-trial investigation in Case No. 472, “Midas,” was considered. The court extended the investigation until November 10, 2026.
Rusyn asserts that Chernyshov’s current charges are based on a single piece of evidence—audio recordings of conversations involving third parties. According to him, in nearly a year, the investigation has not obtained any other documents that would corroborate the charges.
The attorney also stated that the defense had previously drawn the court’s attention to the lack of specific investigative actions aimed at obtaining new evidence. According to him, the situation in this regard has not changed since November 2025.
