A Czech railway operator is launching a direct train service from Przemyśl to Frankfurt
The Czech private rail operator Leo Express has officially announced the launch of a new major international route connecting the Polish city of Przemyśl, located near the border with Ukraine, and Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Regular service will begin on June 25, 2026.
With a total length of over 1,300 kilometers, this route will become one of the longest direct passenger rail routes in modern Europe.
The new train will run daily, providing passengers with a comfortable journey without the need for additional transfers between different trains or stations. Throughout its journey, the train will pass through the territories of three countries—Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany—making stops in major European cultural and industrial centers such as Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, and Erfurt. The final destination is Frankfurt am Main, and the train will make a separate stop directly at Frankfurt International Airport, which will significantly simplify logistics for passengers planning onward flights around the world.
Representatives of the carrier Leo Express emphasize that the launch of this rail route is intended to significantly improve the overall transportation system and logistics connections between Western and Eastern Europe. Particular emphasis is placed on creating comfortable conditions for Ukrainian citizens, as the Przemyśl railway station has remained a key transit hub for millions of Ukrainians traveling to European Union countries for several years in a row. The new route will create another reliable option for integrating Ukrainian passenger traffic into the European transport network.
According to the officially approved schedule, the train will depart from the Przemyśl station at 1:31 p.m. and arrive at Frankfurt Airport at 7:53 a.m. the following morning. In the opposite direction, the train will depart from Frankfurt at 8:27 a.m. and arrive at the Przemyśl station at 2:23 a.m. The launch of this service is expected to significantly simplify the planning of international trips, offering passengers a viable alternative to other modes of transportation.
