An immigration official has been notified of charges related to undisclosed assets worth 13 million hryvnias
Officials from the State Bureau of Investigations have notified an official from the Khmelnytskyi City Department of the State Migration Service that he is under investigation. According to the investigation, he failed to declare assets worth over 13 million hryvnias, including a café and office space with a total area of over 900 square meters.
This was reported on May 11 on the SBI’s official website.
According to the investigation, the suspect is also a member of the Chornoostrivka Village Council. The SBI notes that in the fall of 2023, the official’s wife became the owner of a café and several office spaces in the village of Chornoostriv, Khmelnytskyi District. The property in question has a total area of over 900 square meters. At the time of commissioning, it was valued at 13.7 million hryvnias.
Investigators believe that the official deliberately omitted this information from his declaration, as he understood that the value of the assets did not correspond to his official income or the family’s overall financial status.
The official was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—the intentional inclusion by the declarant of knowingly false information. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) clarified that the discrepancy in the declaration amounts to more than 2,500 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.
The penalty under this article provides for up to two years of imprisonment, as well as a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for a period of up to three years. The Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the proceedings in the case.
