Ukraine has emerged from the most difficult period of the winter in a stronger position, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Andriy Sybiga. According to him, the front line has been stabilized, and the effectiveness of air defense against enemy drones has reached about 90%.

This was stated in a statement by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels.

Sybiga stated that Ukraine has become stronger since last winter—primarily thanks to the support of its partners.

“On the battlefield, we have stabilized the front line. We have stabilized the front line, and we are also in a position to close the sky,” he said.

According to him, Ukraine is currently shooting down up to 90% of the aerial targets Russia is using to attack the country.

In addition to defensive successes, Sibiga also spoke about putting pressure on Moscow.

“We are also implementing very effective targeted sanctions, and they are working,” the minister said.

The minister emphasized that he had come to Brussels with a sense of new momentum. On the agenda are security and efforts to achieve peace.

“We are trying to use every opportunity to bring about a just and comprehensive peace,” Sibiga noted.

He also spoke about Europe’s new role in the peace process. According to him, the main track of negotiations is led by the U.S.—and it remains essential. However, Europe can play its own, complementary role.

“We are not talking about an alternative peace track, but an additional one,” the minister clarified.
