Lobbyists' Association Calls for an Investigation into the Funding of Organizations Promoting Government Reforms

In Ukraine, there are calls to create a transparent registry of grant-receiving organizations in order to expose instances of pressure on government institutions.

The National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine is demanding that activists disclose whose funds they are using to demand personnel competitions in ministries

Currently, the activities of many grant recipients show signs of having a destructive impact on the system of public administration.

Experts note that foreign donors allocate funds to build democracy, but in practice, these resources are sometimes used for blackmail.

Oleksiy Shevchuk, head of the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine, emphasized that every organization promoting legislative changes must disclose its financial reports.

This will allow the public to see who is really behind these so-called reforms.

“As soon as the issue of oversight over the funds our partners provide to us comes up, there’s immediately a public outcry that someone is being silenced. No, friends, this isn’t about democracy; it’s about the fact that a separate faction of agents of influence on the public sector has now formed,” noted Oleksiy Shevchuk.

Lawyers emphasize that the Constitution of Ukraine clearly defines the procedure for appointing government officials and conducting state procedures.

Attempts by activists to impose their own rules for appointing ministers through questionable competitions undermine the legal system. Full financial transparency in the third sector will help protect state sovereignty from external manipulation.
