Man who sent explosives via Nova Poshta has been detained — SBU
The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, has detained a man who, according to the investigation, was involved in the explosion at one of the “Nova Poshta” terminals in the Obolon district of Kyiv on June 5.
The explosion killed an employee of the branch, and two other people were injured.
According to the investigation, the package contained fragmentation munitions, the shipment of which is prohibited. The sender was identified as a 35-year-old native of Donetsk Oblast who currently resides in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Law enforcement officials determined that he had sent the illegally acquired weapons to an acquaintance in Kyiv.
The man was detained at his place of residence. During searches, law enforcement officers seized a mobile phone containing information about the contents of the package and its shipment.
Investigators informed the detainee that he was suspected of violating Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances.
The Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv ordered the suspect to be held in custody as a preventive measure.
The investigation is ongoing.

Explosion at a Kyiv postal terminal classified as a terrorist attack
An explosion occurred at a postal terminal in the Obolon district of the capital. According to preliminary data from the Kyiv police, one person was killed and two others were injured. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
