Video: Ukraine and Norway Sign a Drone Deal
On August 23, Ukraine and Norway signed the “Drone Deal” agreement on defense and technology cooperation. The agreement provides for the exchange of technology and expertise, as well as the joint production and development of unmanned systems and air defense systems.
This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.
According to Serhiy Koretskyi, the Drone Deal opens up new opportunities for the joint production and development of defense technologies.
“Today, Ukraine and Norway signed a drone agreement that strengthens cooperation between our defense sectors and opens up new opportunities for the joint production and development of defense technologies,” the prime minister wrote on Telegram.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, the country’s preparations for winter, and issues related to its financial stability.
Separately, Koretsky thanked Norway for its decision to maintain support for Ukraine in 2027 under the Nansen Program at a level of approximately $9 billion.
“Norway is one of Ukraine’s key partners. Its contribution to our security and resilience cannot be overstated,” the Ukrainian prime minister noted.
Earlier, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre stated in Kyiv that support for Ukraine next year will remain at this year’s level. He called it a record high.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the signing of the document during the Ukraine–Nordic-Baltic Eight summit in Kyiv.
According to the head of state, Ukraine and Norway have concluded an Agreement on Defense and Technological Cooperation, which the parties refer to as the “Drone Deal.”
“Today we have the Drone Deal—a strategic document with Norway,” Zelenskyy said.
The agreement is intended to serve as the foundation for further cooperation between the two countries in the field of unmanned systems, as well as the joint production and development of defense technologies.

As a reminder, Norway will maintain its aid to Ukraine at $9 billion.
Khmara discussed cooperation on defense projects with his counterparts from Sweden and Norway.
On August 6, Yevhen Khmara, Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Defense, held a meeting with British Defense Minister Wes Stritting, during which the parties discussed the situation on the front lines, Ukraine’s needs, and further defense cooperation.
It should be noted that the meeting between UK Defense Minister Wes Streeting and the Ukrainian delegation took place without the participation of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhny. The parties have offered different explanations for his absence.
