Dozens of temperature records were set in Ukraine due to extreme heat

A wave of extreme heat swept across Ukraine, setting dozens of new temperature records in various regions on June 29. New daily highs were set in 12 regional capitals across Ukraine, where temperatures exceeded historical records by between 0.1 and 4.8°C. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook. The highest temperature among regional capitals was recorded in Lutsk, where the mercury “soared” past the +38°C forecast by meteorologists, reaching 39.4°C. In addition to regional capitals, record-breaking heat was recorded at many other regional weather stations in the Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv regions.

Hot weather with rain and thunderstorms will continue in Ukraine on June 30.

Based on the results of inspections conducted in May, the two largest payment terminal networks—EasyPay (LLC “FC ‘Kontraktovy Dom’”) and City24 (LLC “Swift Garant”)—were hit with massive fines: 135 million hryvnias each.
