A Dnipro resident will stand trial for passing Ukrainian air defense coordinates to the Russians

A Dnipro resident will stand trial for treason. According to the investigation, the man passed information about the locations of Ukrainian air defense systems to a representative of the Russian intelligence services in exchange for money.

Law enforcement officials determined that in April–May 2026, he collected data on radar stations and photographed the locations of air defense systems in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

He sent the photos he collected, along with their coordinates, to a Russian handler via Telegram. He received payment for completing these tasks via a cryptocurrency wallet.

In June 2026, the suspect was detained. He is currently being held in custody without the right to bail.

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office has completed the pretrial investigation and submitted the indictment to the court. The man is charged with treason committed under martial law.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine thwarted a terrorist attack in downtown Rivne. According to the investigation, a Russian agent planted a homemade explosive device in a trash can near one of the government buildings. He then used a messaging app to inform his Russian handler that the mission had been completed.

Earlier, the SBU’s counterintelligence unit detained a Russian military intelligence agent in the Donetsk region who was guiding guided bombs and strike drones in the Sloviansk direction.

The Russian intelligence agent changed jobs at various companies in Dnipro to gather information for adjusting Russian strikes. Eventually, the man secured a position at a defense industry company, where he drew up detailed diagrams of workshops and warehouses.
