Leaders of six European countries have arrived in Kyiv
On the morning of August 23, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga met with the leaders of six European countries at the Kyiv Railway Station. Representatives from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway will hold talks in Kyiv with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Sibiga, the visit will include both bilateral meetings and multilateral talks. It is expected that important decisions will be made and statements issued following these discussions. The Ukrainian minister personally greeted the foreign representatives at Kyiv’s train station. In addition to the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway, other high-ranking representatives from European countries also arrived in the capital.
Sybiga emphasized that this visit is taking place on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day. “On the eve of Independence Day, we feel that we are not alone. Our allies are with us,” the foreign minister wrote. In Kyiv, European leaders are scheduled to hold talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The parties will discuss further support for Ukraine and other important issues.
Sibiga also noted that concrete decisions and public statements are expected following the meetings. Details of the talks are expected to be released after the meetings. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on the morning of August 23. During his visit, he will take part in events marking Ukraine’s National Flag Day and Independence Day, meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and hold talks with allies.
