Farion's daughter issued a statement following Zinchenko's life sentence
Sofia Osoba, the daughter of linguist Iryna Farion, called the verdict against Vyacheslav Zinchenko—who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her mother—historic. Sofia Osoba also explained how she plans to allocate the 5 million hryvnias that the convicted man must pay.
“This is a historic verdict. It makes it crystal clear: no one has the right to kill Ukrainians on their own soil,” Osoba stated.
Farion’s daughter also commented on the court’s decision regarding the payment of 5 million hryvnia to her. According to her, she plans to donate this money to the “Rubizh” brigade, where her husband, Vasyl Osoba, served.
“Zinchenko was sentenced to life in prison for this brutal and meticulously planned crime... I also want to note that the funds allocated—5 million hryvnias—will be directed to the ‘Rubizh’ brigade, where my husband, Vasyl Osoba, fought. And I believe we will be able to defeat the enemy,” she added.
