Environmentalists have identified the likely cause of the mass fish die-off in the Odesa region
A mass fish die-off was discovered in the Khadzhibey Estuary in the Odesa region. The die-off was recorded on July 13 near the village of Male, in the Dachne Village Council, and the village of Berehove, in the Usativ Village Council, Odesa District. To determine the exact causes, experts collected water samples and sent them for laboratory analysis.
According to preliminary findings by experts, the mass fish kill may have been caused by a prolonged heat wave and a sharp drop in the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water. The exact cause will be determined once the investigation is complete.
This was reported by the State Environmental Inspection of the Southwestern District.
