A former official of the Khmelnytskyi City Council was sentenced to 15 years in prison for treason

A former employee of one of the departments of the Khmelnytskyi City Council was sentenced to 15 years in prison for collaborating with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). The convicted man, having access to official databases, collected and transmitted to the enemy personal information about servicemen of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and other units of the Armed Forces. For each batch of information transmitted, the traitor received monetary compensation, maintaining contact with his handler via anonymous messaging apps.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Law enforcement officers detained the official in June 2024 during another attempt to transfer data. The investigation established that he had deliberately established contacts with the enemy due to his pro-Russian views. The court found the man guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, sentencing him to the maximum term of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Prior to sentencing, the defendant was held in custody without the right to bail.

Earlier in Rivne, a court sentenced a minor Russian agent who had planned a terrorist attack against Ukrainian servicemen to five years in prison.

As a reminder, the SBU detained a coordinator of Russian strikes on Chernivtsi.

The SBU also exposed a Russian intelligence network that was planning terrorist attacks using teenagers.
