Flash urged Ukrainians to stock up on batteries and fuel in advance
Serhiy Beskrestnov (“Flash”), an advisor to the President of Ukraine on the development of defense technology, recommended on the “Rendezvous” program with Yanina Sokolova that citizens purchase power banks, batteries, and inverters in advance.
According to him, there is a sufficient supply of such equipment available at lower prices in warehouses during the summer, whereas as demand rises in the winter, their cost may increase by 2–3 times.
He also advised families and businesses that use generators to keep at least a 10-liter supply of fuel on hand. The expert emphasized that energy supply and heating will remain the most critical challenges during the upcoming heating season, and that the enemy continues to employ new tactics, including increasing production of high-speed “Shahed” drones.
He made these remarks during an episode of the program “Rendezvous with Yanina Sokolova.”
As of August 7, Kyiv is stepping up preparations for the heating season amid ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. The capital plans to create 1,000 MW of additional thermal power generation capacity and prepare 100 emergency heating centers in case of emergencies.
Following one of Russia’s most intense nighttime attacks on Kyiv on August 5, elevated levels of air pollution were recorded in the capital. The situation is worst in the western and eastern districts of the city, where the Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached unhealthy levels.
