Starting September 1, 2026, Ukrainian schools will begin piloting new textbooks and workbooks for grades 1, 5, and 10.
Throughout the school year, teachers will be able to use these materials in the classroom and provide feedback on how to improve them.
Teachers will evaluate the quality and structure of the textbooks, the logic of the material presentation, the clarity of the assignments, the level of academic workload, ease of use, and suitability for the students’ age group. After the pilot testing is complete, the author teams will revise the educational materials based on the feedback received.
The Ministry of Education and Science notes that participation in the program will allow educators to directly influence the quality of future textbooks, as well as familiarize themselves with the updated educational curriculum and develop their professional competencies.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of 6.2 billion hryvnias in subsidies from the state budget to local budgetsfor additional payments to teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Science has created a special online calculator that allows teachers to independently calculate their salaries, taking into account thepay raises.
