Goncharenko came to the defense of the coach who was fined for speaking Russian
Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of parliament from the “European Solidarity” party, expressed support for former Dynamo coach Vyacheslav Bogodelov, who was fined for conducting training sessions in Russian.
Earlier, Bogodelov reported that he had been fined for violating language laws, posting a screenshot of the enforcement proceedings on the “Diya” app. Following this, he announced the end of his coaching career and stated that he was ceasing his activity on social media.
Goncharenko criticized this decision, stating that such cases could lead to the loss of experienced youth coaches. In his post, he also accused the authorities of applying double standards regarding the use of the Russian language.
The MP’s post sparked a lively discussion on social media. Some users supported his position and Bogodelov himself, but many commenters emphasized that the official language is mandatory during the educational and training process, and that the requirements of language legislation must be followed by everyone without exception.
Vyacheslav Bogodelov previously played for a number of Ukrainian soccer clubs, and after retiring, he worked with youth teams, including those in the Kyiv “Dynamo” system and at the Evolution Football Academy.
