On the morning of June 5, a traffic accident occurred in the Kharkiv region involving a minibus carrying schoolchildren. Five people were injured in the accident, including three students and two teachers. All of the victims were hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical care. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated.
According to law enforcement officials, the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving. The vehicle veered off the road at high speed, then flew into a ditch and rolled onto its side.
“According to preliminary data, on the morning of June 5, a traffic accident involving a Volkswagen LT occurred on the R-58 highway ‘Merefa – Zlatopil – Lozova.’ The driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and the car subsequently rolled into a ditch,” the report states.
According to law enforcement officials, there were 14 children in the vehicle—5th and 9th-grade students from one of the region’s high schools—as well as two teachers accompanying the group on a field trip.
Emergency medical personnel and police crews arrived at the scene promptly. All five injured individuals, who sustained injuries of varying severity, were immediately transported to hospitals in the region. The other children in the vehicle received necessary psychological assistance, and their lives are not in danger.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the traffic accident in which minors were injured.
