A new memorial dedicated to the heroic deeds of the Security Service of Ukraine has been unveiled on Defenders’ Alley, near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People.
This was reported by the SBU press center.
This monument is the 22nd in the memorial complex, which honors various units of the Armed Forces fighting for the country’s independence.
The memorial is imbued with deep symbolism that reflects the nature of the special service’s work during a full-scale war.
It features an engraved colorless sword, symbolizing the “quiet” and meticulously precise work of operatives, as well as a stylized cotton flower resembling an explosion.

“The Security Service, together with other units of the Defense Forces, has been repelling the enemy since the very first days. We are destroying the occupiers on the front lines on an industrial scale, turning their equipment into scrap metal, and with our long-range strikes, we are destroying the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation,” emphasized Acting Head of the SBU Major General Yevhen Khmara during the ceremony.
The agency head emphasized that “cotton” at the aggressor’s strategic facilities has already become a hallmark of the SBU’s unique operations.
In addition to successes on the front lines, the security service is demonstrating impressive results in combating internal threats and enemy agents behind the lines.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian counterintelligence has managed to expose 141 agent networks working for the enemy.
As a reminder, the SBU is issuing warnings about enemy recruitment following the terrorist attack in Bucha.
The SBU also exposed a Russian spy network that was planning assassinations.
