Gerasymchuk has stepped down as head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police

Ruslan Gerasymchuk is no longer the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. He had been leading the regional police since 2020. It is currently unclear whether he was dismissed or resigned voluntarily.

This information was confirmed to Glavkom by Yulia Girdvilis, spokesperson for the National Police of Ukraine.

“I cannot comment on the head’s decision, but a new head of the department will be introduced in the near future,” the spokesperson emphasized.

It is currently unknown whether Ruslan Gerasymchuk was dismissed or left the position voluntarily. There is also no information yet on exactly when he ceased to head the Main Directorate.

Ruslan Gerasymchuk headed the regional police department for nearly six years—he was appointed to this position in July 2020. Prior to that, he served as deputy head of the regional police department.

What is known about Gerasymchuk’s assets and income

Ruslan Gerasymchuk, the dismissed head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Khmelnytskyi region, has declareda number of real estate properties and a vehicle.

Among the properties are a 3.43-hectare plot of land in the village of Hryhorivka, Starokostiantynivska community, as well as two 1,000-square-meter plots in the village of Kopystyn and another 900-square-meter plot in the village of Stara Ushytsia, all of which he owns.

In Khmelnytskyi, he has the right to use an 88.4-square-meter apartment owned by Iryna Herasymchuk. The family also owns a house in Starokostiantyniv, where Gerasymchuk himself has the right of residence, and the owner is Raisa Gerasymchuk, presumably his mother. His daughter also uses an apartment in the regional center, which belongs to Iryna Gerasymchuk.

In addition, he uses a leased 2007 Hyundai Tucson.

According to the declaration, Gerasymchuk’s salary with the police was 1.28 million UAH, income from property rentals was 36,400 UAH, and he received an additional 40,500 UAH as an associate professor at the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law.

The SBU and the OGP exposed regional police officials for a scheme to provide “protection” for explicit content.

Also in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, the prosecutor’s office is seeking nearly 387 million hryvnias in damages through the courts for losses caused by deforestation in the “Hutsulshchyna” National Park. The investigation claims that under the guise of sanitary work, over 9,000 trees were destroyed there without the necessary permits and approvals. Now, they are attempting to hold the state-owned enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” responsible, to which the relevant forestry enterprise was later merged.
