The head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration suspended his deputy, who was caught taking kickbacks

Serhiy Tyurin, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, suspended his deputy, Vladislav Falyush, from his official duties effective August 4, 2026. An official investigation has already been launched into the official’s conduct.

The decision was made after charges were filed against Falyush and the acting director of the State Institution “Khmelnytskyi Regional Road Service.” A separate order also suspended the acting director of this agency from his duties and established a working group to review its operations.

Serhiy Tyurin emphasized that the Regional State Administration is fully cooperating with the pre-trial investigation and is promptly providing all necessary documents. The regional governor underscored his firm stance against corruption and stated that punishment must be inevitable.

On August 3, 2026, the Office of the Prosecutor General notified the official that he was suspected of receiving an unlawful benefit (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the official demanded kickbacks amounting to 5% of the value of the deals in exchange for signing contracts for the repair of interregional highways and securing their funding. 

A bail of nearly 5 million hryvnias was posted for Vladislav Falyush, deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration.
