A community leader in the Kyiv region is suspected of organizing a bribery scheme

In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officials have notified the head of a local community that he is suspected of systematically accepting bribes in exchange for resolving issues within the jurisdiction of local authorities.

According to the investigation, the official established a scheme to receive money and other valuables from business owners and citizens in exchange for assistance in the areas of urban planning, land relations, construction, the issuance of permits, the conclusion of contracts, and road repairs.

Among the documented incidents are the receipt of bribes for issuing urban planning conditions, approving construction projects, extending land leases, changing their designated use, concluding contracts for road infrastructure repairs, and commissioning real estate projects.

Investigators believe the scheme operated between 2025 and 2026. It likely involved certain officials and individuals close to the community leadership.

The official is charged with receiving unlawful benefits through a prior conspiracy by a group of individuals using their official positions.
