A group of soldiers from the Poltava region will stand trial for embezzling fuel intended for the front lines

Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations have completed a pre-trial investigation into a group of military personnel from the Poltava region suspected of systematically stealing diesel fuel intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the investigation, the suspects siphoned off fuel en route to combat units carrying out missions in northern and eastern Ukraine, particularly in areas of active combat.

According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by a military serviceman responsible for maintaining the equipment used to transport fuel. It was through his unit that the fuel was supplied to the front lines.

The State Bureau of Investigation emphasizes that combating crimes in the defense sector, particularly the theft of military property, is one of the agency’s top priorities.

The case materials have now been transferred to court, where the military personnel will have to answer for the alleged crimes.
