Security and parliamentary leaders discussed funding for the Defense Forces and the development of the defense industry
Ihor Klymenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, took part in a working meeting with Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada; Acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Skybyuk. The main topic of the meeting was improving security legislation and further cooperation with members of parliament and relevant parliamentary committees.
The participants identified the uninterrupted funding of the Armed Forces and the expansion of the capabilities of the domestic defense-industrial complex as key priorities. Officials emphasized the need for prompt decision-making to simultaneously strengthen the protection of Ukrainian airspace against air attacks and develop capabilities for effectively striking the enemy.

The Rada will convene for an extraordinary session to unblock funding for the army.
Currently, about 100 bills necessary for Ukraine’s further progress toward European Union membership have been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. All of them are awaiting parliamentary consideration.
