The management of the Medikom Clinic could face charges as early as next week — Oleksiy Shevchuk
The main investigative procedures in the "Medicom" clinic case have been completed, and the clinic's management may be formally notified of the charges in the near future.
This was stated by public figure and attorney Oleksiy Shevchuk.
“Currently, the Medicom case is moving toward charges being filed against the clinic’s management. All evidence has been gathered, all expert examinations have been conducted, and witnesses have been questioned,” he noted.
According to him, “there is a strong possibility that the clinic’s management will be notified of the charges as early as next week.”
Shevchuk also reported that “there is documented evidence that Ms. Malyovana attempted to reach a deal with the investigators,” adding that “these actions have been evaluated separately.”
He emphasized that the investigation is proceeding effectively: “I warned that we are working effectively.”
“No one responsible for the events of January 5—neither the aggressor nor the clinic that was negligent—will escape accountability,” the lawyer emphasized.
“Human life comes first. The ‘Medicom’ clinic should not try to negotiate with the investigation,” Shevchuk added.
Natalia Smashna, the wife of a patient who died on January 5 during a Russian strike on a ward at the Medikom clinic, has been recognized as a victim in one of the criminal cases. The woman states that the staff hid themselves and did not even wake her husband so that he could take cover.
Natalia Smashna, the wife of the patient who died when a Russian drone struck the Medikom Clinic in Kyiv, stated that she will demand compensation from the facility and accuses the medical institution of negligence that led to her husband’s death.
