In Ukraine, an appeals court has sentenced a man to life in prison for the brutal murder of an 8-month-old child in the Kirovohrad region.

This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to the investigation, the man systematically abused the infant: he beat him, threw him, stubbed out cigarette butts on his skin, and overturned the stroller with the child inside.

On the day of the tragedy, while intoxicated, he slammed the boy’s head against the wall several times—the child died from the resulting injuries.

An examination determined that this was prolonged torture: numerous burns, bruises, and abrasions were found on the body.

Initially, the court sentenced the defendant to 15 years in prison, but the prosecution appealed the verdict.

The appeals court deemed the sentence too lenient and replaced it with life imprisonment.

On April 16, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with a drone, injuring a two-year-old child. Eight high-rise buildings were also damaged.

On the night of April 6, Russian occupation forces carried out a massive shelling of residential areas in Odesa, targeting peaceful high-rise buildings.
