In Lviv, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, the defendant in the murder case of linguist Iryna Farion, went on a hunger strike during the court hearing.
According to his attorney, Ihor Sulima, the defense moved to recuse the panel of judges at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court due to alleged bias. Specifically, the motion cited refusals to question witnesses, summon experts, and order additional expert examinations.
Prosecutor Dmytro Petlovany noted that the defense had the opportunity to appeal the decision but exercised this right only once.
The court denied the recusal of the panel of judges, and this decision is not subject to appeal.
Following this, Zinchenko announced the start of a hunger strike, explaining it as a protest against the court’s actions and alleged violations of his rights.
