Khmara visited air defense command posts in the Kyiv region

Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara visited the command posts of Air Force units in the Kyiv region and discussed the new tactics of Russian attacks with military personnel.

During the meeting, the main focus was on detecting and tracking aerial targets, making decisions, and destroying enemy weapons systems. According to Khmara, the task of the air defense forces is to intercept Russian targets before they approach the capital.

“Together, we determined which approaches need to be changed and how to strengthen Kyiv’s layered defense. Aviation, air defense, and mobile fire groups—all components must adapt their operations to the new realities,” the minister stated.

Khmara also spoke with combat pilots and air defense operators about the situation, the units’ needs, and available resources.

They discussed the Shahed jet-powered attack drones separately. The minister noted that the Ukrainian military is already shooting down such targets, and the next task is to scale up the relevant technologies and equip the units with them.

In Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, a fire broke out on the grounds of an industrial enterprise due to debris from a downed Russian drone. The fire occurred in the industrial zone. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi District, debris was reported to have fallen on an educational institution following a Russian attack. Details regarding the extent of the damage and possible casualties are being verified.
