The number of casualties from the attack on Lviv has risen to 32

On March 24, 2026, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced updated figures on the aftermath of the Russian shelling of the city. The number of injured has risen to 32, but fortunately, there have been no fatalities.

According to the mayor, the Sykhiv district suffered the most damage, with 19 high-rise buildings damaged; a residential building on Chervonoyi Kaliny Avenue, home to over 350 people, was hit twice. The building has no electricity or gas supply, and over 1,300 windows were shattered in the district overall.

In the Halytskyi district, an architectural monument of national significance at 3 Soborna Square was significantly damaged, with 17 apartments affected. On Bandera Street, windows were shattered in four buildings, and residents of six homes had to be evacuated to hotels. Damage to public transportation was also recorded, amounting to 650,000 UAH. To assist those affected, a mobile Administrative Service Center will be operating at School No. 98 on March 25 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM to process compensation claims.

On March 24, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on western regions of Ukraine using kamikaze drones. In Lviv, one of the drones struck a building in the city center, causing a fire.

This attack was part of a large-scale air assault by the Russian Federation that on March 24 targeted several regions of Ukraine, including critical infrastructure facilities in the rear regions.
