Kyiv Customs destroyed approximately 60 kg of drugs hidden in sweets
Kyiv customs officials seized a shipment of narcotic and psychotropic substances weighing a total of 58 kg that was being smuggled into Ukraine, concealed inside candy and chewing gum.
The State Customs Service emphasizes that the dangerous substances did not reach consumers.
The majority of the seized substances were found in international mail and express shipments. Some were seized while Boryspil and Zhuliany airports were still operational. Smugglers attempted to hide the prohibited substances in everyday items: candy, chocolate bars, chewing gum, seeds, pills, and e-cigarette liquids.
Among the items destroyed were cocaine, kratom, codeine, morphine, cannabis, cannabis resin, and tetrahydrocannabinol. In total, dozens of types of dangerous substances.
All of them were destroyed in a special furnace at extremely high temperatures—by decision of the commission in the presence of customs officials, law enforcement officers, and a licensed organization.


According to customs officials, narcotic and psychotropic substances entering Ukraine without proper authorization are always seized and confiscated. There are no alternatives to the fate of the seized items.
“Narcotics and psychotropic substances entering Ukraine without proper authorization are seized by customs and confiscated. From there, there is only one path: destruction,” the service’s statement reads.
Customs emphasized: The 58 kilograms of seized substances did not reach consumers. Efforts to combat drug trafficking continue.
Counterfeit e-cigarette liquids were seized in the Khmelnytskyi region.
A drug ring was dismantled in Ukraine; 8 million doses of psychotropic substances worth ₴2 billion were seized.
A large-scale drug raid was conducted in Kharkiv Oblast: over 100 million worth of "goods" were seized.
