The commander of an electronic warfare company was sentenced to 10 years in prison and stripped of his military rank for embezzling military property. According to the prosecutor’s office, the officer sold the “Udav A10” electronic warfare system—which had been donated—for 180,000 hryvnias, but the equipment was later returned to the military unit.
As reported by the Donetsk Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs, in September 2025, the military unit received the “Udav A10” electronic warfare system, complete with a power supply unit valued at 230,000 UAH, as a charitable donation.
After being recorded on the unit’s inventory, the equipment was transferred to the unit where the defendant was serving for testing under combat conditions.
According to the investigation, the servicemember exploited his official position to embezzle the electronic warfare system entrusted to him, after which he posted an advertisement for its sale on an online platform.
In early March 2026, he sold the equipment in the Dnipropetrovsk region for 180,000 UAH.
During the pretrial investigation, law enforcement officers returned the stolen electronic warfare equipment to the military unit.
The trial court found the evidence presented by the prosecution sufficient to prove the servicemember’s guilt.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and stripped of his military rank of “senior lieutenant.” The verdict was handed down under Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—misappropriation of military property through abuse of official position under martial law.
