Colonel Sergei Shatalov has been appointed commander of the 30th Marine Corps

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy signed an order appointing 33-year-old Colonel Serhiy Shatalov as commander of the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy. 

Prior to this appointment, Shatalov had commanded the 37th Separate Marine Brigade since October 2024. Previously, he also served as deputy commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade and led the 505th Separate Battalion.

The officer began his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014 after graduating from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy. During the full-scale invasion, Shatalov commanded a battalion near Mariupol, participated in the defense and de-occupation of the right bank of the Kherson region, and, after being wounded, carried out combat missions in the area of the village of Krynky. He is a full recipient of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and has been awarded the Order of Danylo Halytskyi.

Drapatiy revoked more than 30 outdated General Staff orders.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy held a meeting with the chief sergeants of the various branches and services, corps, and military command bodies. Most of the participants arrived directly from combat zones along various sections of the front.
