In Dnipro, a 56-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping an 11-year-old girl and distributing a video featuring her online. According to the prosecutor’s office, the crimes took place in 2019, when the man was working as a music director at a children’s camp. The verdict has already taken legal effect.

 

In Dnipro, a court found a 56-year-old local resident guilty of raping an 11-year-old child and distributing child pornography. The man was sentenced to 12 years in prison. According to the case file, the crimes took place in July 2019. At the time, the man was working as a music director at a children’s camp and was responsible for the children.

As the investigation established, he repeatedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl at the camp. The man also recorded his criminal acts on video. He later distributed this material online. Law enforcement officials discovered one of these videos online in December 2019. It was after this discovery that the man was exposed and arrested.

According to the prosecutor’s office, after committing the crimes, he attempted to cover up his actions. To do so, the man exerted psychological pressure on the girl and threatened her. As a result, the child did not speak out about what had happened to her for a long time. During the trial, the defendant did not admit his guilt. However, the court examined the prosecution’s evidence and found the man guilty.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the rape of a minor and the distribution of materials containing child pornography. The verdict has already taken legal effect. Information about the convicted man will also be entered into the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Integrity of Minors.

The prosecutor’s office is not disclosing the convicted man’s name or other details that could identify the child victim. This was reported by juvenile prosecutors from the Right Bank District Prosecutor’s Office in Dnipro.
