Koretsky met with the Servant of the People faction on the eve of the vote for prime minister

Serhiy Koretskyi, a candidate for the position of prime minister, held a meeting with members of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction, during which he presented his vision for the future government’s work and answered questions from lawmakers.

This was reported by Olga Vasilevska-Smaglyuk, a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction. According to her, the meeting took place without President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in attendance. At the same time, the head of state is expected to participate this evening in finalizing the package of personnel decisions, which the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider on July 16.

It is expected that parliament will first vote on the appointment of the prime minister, after which it will consider the composition of the government. Separately, lawmakers will vote on candidates for the posts of defense minister and foreign minister.

“Tomorrow’s session will begin with the appointment of the prime minister, and until around 6:00 p.m., parliament will review and vote on the cabinet,” Vasylevska-Smaglyuk wrote.

During the meeting, Koretsky, according to the lawmaker, announced his intention to split the Ministry of Community, Territorial, and Infrastructure Development into two agencies—the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Recovery, Communities, and Internally Displaced Persons. He also plans to reestablish a separate Ministry of Agrarian Policy, which, according to preliminary information, may be headed by Taras Vysotsky.

Among the priorities of the future government, Koretskyy cited preparations for the heating season, comprehensive support for the Ministry of Defense, and the development of mental health programs for Ukrainians.

Olga Vasilevska-Smaglyuk reported this on Telegram.

As a reminder, Serhiy Koretskyi, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, is considered the leading candidate for the position of energy minister.

Serhiy Koretsky, the current CEO of the Naftogaz Group, may become Ukraine’s new prime minister. This was reported by Forbes Ukraine sources among high-ranking officials familiar with personnel changes in the government.
