Exchange rates as of May 28: Banks and currency exchange offices have raised the dollar and euro rates

On May 28, the dollar exchange rate continued to rise at Ukrainian banks and currency exchange offices. The euro also remains near the 52-hryvnia mark, and some financial institutions have already raised the exchange rate for the euro. Amid market fluctuations, Ukrainians are actively monitoring where they can buy or sell dollars and euros at the best rates today. The lowest exchange rates are traditionally offered by certain banks and currency exchange chains.

Exchange rates at currency exchange offices

Exchange offices continued to gradually raise exchange rates today. According to the Minfin portal, the average buying rate for the dollar rose by another 2 kopecks to 44.22 hryvnia. The selling rate for the U.S. currency remained at yesterday’s level—44.10 hryvnia.

The euro also continues to rise in value. Today, the European currency can be bought for an average of 51.80 hryvnia, which is 5 kopecks more than yesterday. The selling rate rose to 51.60 hryvnia (+5 kopecks).

Exchange rates at banks

There are no drastic changes at banks, though some financial institutions have adjusted their rates compared to yesterday.

PrivatBank left the dollar rate unchanged. Branches are selling the U.S. currency at 44.45 hryvnia, while the card rate stands at 44.44 hryvnia.

The euro rate at bank branches also remained unchanged at 51.85 hryvnia. For cards, the selling rate stands at 51.81 hryvnia.

Oschadbank raised the dollar selling rate in “Mobile Oschad” by 5 kopecks today—to 44.45 hryvnia. For cards, the rate remained unchanged—44.55 hryvnia.

The euro in the mobile app rose by 10 kopecks at once—to 51.90 hryvnia. The card rate also rose by 10 kopecks and now stands at 52.05 hryvnia.

"PUMB" maintains one of the highest dollar selling rates—44.60 hryvnia in the cash segment. The bank’s commercial rate remained unchanged at 44.40 hryvnia. The euro is sold at bank teller windows for 52 hryvnia.

Monobank has also kept its rates nearly unchanged. The dollar is selling for 44.43 hryvnia, and the euro for 51.80 hryvnia. Meanwhile, the euro buying rate has dropped by 7 kopecks to 51.10 hryvnia.

Where is the cheapest place to buy currency?

Dollar: the best place to buy is at currency exchange offices—at 44.22 UAH. Among banks, Monobank offers the lowest selling rate—44.43 UAH.

Euro: The lowest rate among banks is currently at Monobank and PrivatBank—around 51.80 UAH. At PUMB and Oschadbank, the rate already exceeds 52 UAH.

Where is it more profitable to sell currency?

Dollar: The best buying rate for the dollar is currently at currency exchange offices—44.10 UAH. Among banks, Oschadbank and PUMB offer the most favorable rates—44 UAH each.

Euro: It is most profitable to sell euros at currency exchange offices—at 51.60 UAH. Among banks, Oschadbank offers the highest euro buying rate—51.40 UAH.

The NBU has published exchange rates for May 27; the dollar is falling.

The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates for Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The U.S. dollar once again hit a new all-time high, surpassing the previous record set on May 25 (44.26 hryvnia).

For comparison, the day before (May 26), the official exchange rates were 44.24 hryvnia per dollar and 51.52 hryvnia per euro.

The total amount of deposits held by individuals and sole proprietors in Ukrainian banks increased by 40.1 billion hryvnia in April, reaching 1.68 trillion hryvnia.
