Exchange rates in Ukraine as of April 1: The dollar is falling at currency exchange offices, while the euro is rising

The beginning of April brought Ukrainians a mixed picture in the foreign exchange market. At private exchange offices, the U.S. dollar continues to fall, while the euro is rising. In the banking sector, the situation is the opposite: the dollar is gaining slightly in value, while the euro is losing value.

This is evidenced by market monitoring data.

The dollar has lost 7–8 kopecks at exchange offices compared to the previous day. You can buy a dollar for 43.82 hryvnia and sell it for 43.70 hryvnia.

The euro has risen by 5 kopecks at currency exchange offices. You can sell euros for 50.55 hryvnia and buy them for 50.80 hryvnia.

In banks, the dollar has risen slightly in price—the selling rate rose by 1 kopeck to 44.10 hryvnia, while the buying rate remained at 43.60 hryvnia. At the same time, the euro became cheaper in banks: the average selling rate fell to 50.76 hryvnia (-14 kopecks), and the buying rate to 50.10 hryvnia (-10 kopecks).

Most major banks offer better rates in their mobile apps:

  • PrivatBank: dollar – 44.10 UAH at teller windows, 44.05 UAH online; euro – 50.80 UAH at teller windows, 51.02 UAH via non-cash transactions.
  • Oschadbank: dollar – 44.25 UAH at teller windows, 44.05 UAH online; euro – 51.10 UAH at teller windows, 50.90 UAH online.
  • PUMB: dollar – 44.20 UAH at teller windows, 44.00 UAH online; euro – 50.80 UAH at teller windows, 50.60 UAH online.
  • Monobank: dollar – 44.05 UAH, euro – 51.05 UAH.

Thus, for those planning to buy or sell currency, it is more advantageous to use banks’ online apps.

Prior to this, the euro had fallen by about 30 kopecks over the past day, while the dollar has been declining more moderately.

The NBU published exchange rates for March 30; the dollar and euro are falling.

Prior to this, the National Bank of Ukraine recorded a slight strengthening of the national currency on the country’s foreign exchange market.

As a reminder, the morning of March 27 brought good news for currency buyers, as the dollar fell by 5 kopecks and the euro by 10 kopecks at exchange offices.
