German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit to discuss the strategic partnership.

This was reported by Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

During the meetings, he officially announced Berlin’s intention to significantly deepen defense cooperation with Ukraine and leverage its unique combat experience.

The main goal of the visit was to finalize plans for integrating Ukrainian technological solutions into the European security system.

The German side is officially interested in expanding cooperation in the field of advanced defense technologies, which will allow for the faster modernization of both countries’ weaponry.

According to the DPA news agency, Boris Pistorius emphasized during his visit to Kyiv that Berlin is interested in expanding cooperation with Ukraine in the field of defense technologies.

According to him, Ukraine has accumulated significant experience in the development and use of high-tech weapons in wartime conditions.

The German government views this practical experience as an invaluable resource for the development of modern armed forces.

Pistorius stated directly: “This experience can be useful for both countries,” emphasizing the transition from a format of aid to a full-fledged technological exchange.

A separate item on the agenda was the issue of establishing weapons manufacturing capabilities with the direct participation of Ukrainian specialists.

Pistorius also stated that the German government supports the idea of creating new joint German-Ukrainian defense enterprises.
