The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense will accelerate the development of aviation weapons
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, together with its international partners, is stepping up efforts to accelerate the production and delivery of modern weapons for combat aviation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As part of these efforts, the ministry held a specialized event, Industry Day, which was attended by representatives of leading foreign defense companies and delegations from countries participating in the Air Power Capabilities Coalition.
The Ministry of Defense noted that Ukrainian developers presented their own developments in the field of aviation munitions and weapons to their partners.
“Our task is to work with international partners to minimize the time it takes to go from an idea to the application of a technological solution on the battlefield,” the statement reads.
Ukrainian designers presented developments in two key areas:
- state-of-the-art domestically produced aviation munitions;
- high-tech weapons systems for equipping combat aircraft.
The ministry emphasized that the Air Force Capabilities Coalition is systematically working to strengthen Ukraine’s airspace.
“The Air Force Capabilities Coalition is working to strengthen the defense of our airspace: training Ukrainian pilots and technicians, transferring modern aircraft, and developing airfield infrastructure and services,” the ministry noted.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda signed a strategic agreement on cooperation in the defense sector. Ukraine and Lithuania agreed on a “Drone Deal” framework, which provides for the creation of joint production facilities for unmanned systems, technology transfer, and the localization of production of long-range strike and maritime drones on Lithuanian territory.
Earlier, Zelenskyy proposed a drone deal to all partners, which the U.S. rejected.
Recall that U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States does not need Ukraine’s help in defending against Iranian drone strikes. He emphasized that American drones are “the best in the world” and their capabilities surpass any others.
