The Ministry of Internal Affairs has debunked a false report about the repatriation of 1,210 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has denied reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged repatriation of 1,210 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and their preliminary identification.
Artur Dobroserdov, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, stated that no such repatriation efforts have taken place, and that the information regarding the alleged identification of the servicemen is false.
According to him, the authors of these fake posts are adding fabricated “lists,” photographs, and surnames to their posts, forcing the families of those missing in action to relive their pain and false hope.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that the images circulating alongside such posts appear to have been generated using artificial intelligence.
Ukrainians were urged to trust only official information from government agencies, not to share unverified posts, and to always verify their source.

As part of the latest repatriation efforts, the bodies of 501 deceased individuals were returned to Ukraine. According to the Russian side, the remains may belong to Ukrainian servicemen who died during combat operations.
