Police in the Chernivtsi region have arrested a 48-year-old local resident who is accused of committing a series of serious crimes against the sexual freedom and integrity of minors.
This was reported by the cyber police.
According to law enforcement officials, the man used fake names to befriend girls on messaging apps and gain their trust. He then attempted to obtain sexually explicit material from them.
The investigation established that the suspect repeatedly sexually exploited children, forcing them to produce pornographic content. At least five victims aged 8 to 10 are known.
During searches of the suspect’s premises, authorities seized devices and storage media containing the prohibited content. Forensic analysis confirmed that the files found constitute child pornography.
Currently, police officers, under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors, have completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted the indictment to the court. The Bukovina resident is charged with the sexual abuse and exploitation of minors, as well as the possession and production of child pornography. He faces up to 15 years in prison for his crimes.
Earlier, the Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police,
prevented a terrorist attack in the center of Kharkiv and detained a 16-year-old agent of Russian military intelligence who was planning an explosion in the frontline city.
Previously, the Security Service of Ukraine
detained a Russian agent in the Kharkiv region who was gathering data for missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian military positions in the Kupiansk direction.
In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a Russian agent who, under the guise of fulfilling defense contracts, was coordinating airstrikes on Kyiv.
