Rescuers recovered the bodies of a 49-year-old man and one of his sons from the Dniester River; they had gone missing while swimming near the village of Repuzhintsi in the Chernivtsi district. The search for another 8-year-old boy is ongoing.
The tragedy occurred on the evening of June 24. According to police, a father and his two children, aged 7 and 8, went missing while swimming. The search operation lasted all night and resumed on the morning of June 25.
About 50 rescuers, 9 pieces of specialized equipment, 6 watercraft, and 6 drones were deployed in the search.
As of 10:00 a.m., divers had recovered the bodies of a 49-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy. The search for the remaining child continues.
Four people, including three children, went missing in the Dniester River in Chernivtsi Oblast. The incidents occurred on June 24 while they were swimming and relaxing near the water. A large-scale search and rescue operation is currently underway.
