VIDEO: Border guard released from captivity sees his son for the first time in years
During today’s prisoner exchange, a Ukrainian border guard was reunited with his son for the first time in a long time.
In the published video, the soldier, unable to hold back his tears, says to the boy, “You’ve grown so much, I didn’t even recognize you.”
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine released the touching footage of the reunion.

Ukraine carried out another prisoner exchange and brought home 160 soldiers who had been held captive by Russia since 2022. Among those released are defenders from various units who fought on the front lines in the fiercest areas of combat. All of them are now back on Ukrainian soil and are receiving the necessary assistance.
During today’s prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia, nearly all of the released Ukrainian defenders had been held in enemy captivity since 2022.
