In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a man detonated a grenade during his arrest, injuring five police officers. Three criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incident.
This was reported by the National Police.
The information has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under articles regarding an attack on the lives of law enforcement officers, attempted murder, and illegal handling of weapons and explosives.
The incident occurred on the morning of April 21 in the Synelnykivskyi district. The police received a report that a local resident was heavily intoxicated and claimed to have two grenades in his possession.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers began negotiations with the man. When they were unable to persuade him, a decision was made to arrest him. During the attempt to arrest him, the man threw an F-1 grenade at the police officers.

As a result of the explosion, five officers sustained shrapnel wounds of varying severity and were hospitalized; they are currently receiving medical care.
The 35-year-old man who was detained was subsequently taken into custody, and another grenade was seized from him. Fragments of an explosive device and a fuse were also found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier in Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers detained a 33-year-old man who threw a grenade in the courtyard of a high-rise building during a conflict.
Earlier, in the town of Storozhynets, Chernivtsi region, a man was detained who threw a combat grenade at police officers.
As a reminder, on the night of February 13, in the town of Vynogradiv, Zakarpattia Oblast, an explosion occurred on the grounds of a private residence where the family of a local police officer works in the operational unit resides.
